Formulation Scientist – Aerosols
Salary: c£30,000+ benefits

Overview:
Working across Shape, Damage and Colour/Shine teams, provide product formulation and technical expertise to support global innovation projects for global brands e.g. Sunsilk and TIGI. Reporting to the Resource Manager, provide significant contributions to innovation project delivery and coordination activities within the Hair DTG Formulation Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to Hair Category Innovation Programme, specifically in formulating and developing products which extend the global technology offering across brands e.g. Sunsilk and TIGI. Acting as the Lead Formulation Scientist on at least one Innovation Project, direct the formulation activities within the project team, typically managing the work programme of one other team member as well as own. Demonstrate excellence in compliance with operating procedures, and best practice ways of working, together with technical expertise in a particular area of formulation capability e.g. aerosols.
Act as primary point of contact for the Technical Project Leader, and conduct strategic evaluations and analyses of data where required. Be fully conversant with presenting own work confidently within global teams, and contributing to management meetings wherever appropriate.
Additionally, employ technical knowledge of the following:
- Utilisation of best practice systems e.g. specifications databases, safety clearances
- hair science themes and the chemistry of hair care product technologies
- quantitative measurement of intrinsic consumer-relevant hair properties
- Skills development: Deliver high-quality technical data through developing own capability in formulating skills and data management. Manage conflicting priorities in work schedule to maximise productivity, and communicate lead times/issues affecting delivery to task manager in timely manner.
Skills/Experience:
-Education to degree level in a physical sciences discipline, with specific formulation experience in R&D and aerosols work -Practical laboratory formulating experience, data interpretation and experimental design -Strong teamwork and evidence of strategic thinking/planning -Highly-motivated with resourceful problem solving skills/practical creativity -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
