Ian Mackinnon becomes Chairman of BAMA
21/03/2012
The British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association – BAMA – has appointed Ian Mackinnon as its new non-executive chairman, a post vacated by Dr. John Morris, who has been appointed as the Association’s Chief Executive Officer, with immediate effect.
Mr Mackinnon, who is CEO of Swallowfield PLC, has been a member of the BAMA Executive Committee for the past 6 years as well as acting as vice-chairman since January 2011.
Commenting on his new role, Ian Mackinnon said: “I am honoured to be elected as chairman of one of the UK’s most reputable trade associations. Having worked in the sector for over twelve years, I hope that I will be able to help BAMA remain at the forefront of industry thinking and look forward to working with the Executive Committee which I know to be very strong.
“I am also keen to support John Morris in his new role and I will work hard to ensure the Association’s core goals are met during what is a challenging period for industry.”
Ian Mackinnon is qualified as a chemical engineer and a chartered accountant. In January 2000, he joined Swallowfield as group finance director and was later appointed to CEO in March 2006.
Former chairman, Dr John Morris, replaces Sue Rogers who has been Director of BAMA for 18 years and who is retiring.
