Aerosol Filling (2009)
£500
The purpose of the Aerosol Filing Guide to help maximise safety levels across the complete aerosol manufacturing process and to ensure safety for the consumer through adherence to all required quality controls. The Guide aims to cover the whole range of aerosol filling, both large and small operations, and all types of products with the exception of pharmaceuticals. Therefore, whilst all five parts are relevant to all aerosol fillers, some of the advice may not be applicable to a particular filling operation. In some cases guidance is given as to the applicability of advice, but in the majority of cases the decision is left to the assessor’s common sense.
Emergency Planning
£25
This Module gives requirements and guidance for Emergency Plans for those sites manufacturing aerosols, handling filled aerosols during transport, storing or disposing of aerosols and for laboratories capable of manufacturing aerosols.
Guide to Packing Filled Aerosols Safely
£60.00
A comprehensive guide designed to inform those in manufacturing how they should pack aerosols safely for transport and distribution and to promote good practices. The guide includes a framework for the risk assessment of the hazards of packing of filled aerosols that is required by DSEAR. It does not describe in detail the labelling or documentation needed for transporting aerosols. This can be found in the BAMA 'Guide to the International Transport of Aerosols' or Module 5 of The BAMA Standard for Consumer Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice.
BAMA Guide to Hot Water Bath Testing and Its Alternatives
£25.00
This guide is designed to provide advice to ensure that aerosols leaving the aerosol filling operation are safe for transport and sales to the consumer.
BAMA Guide to Aerosol Design (2009)
£150
This Guide sets out good practice in aerosol product design and testing to ensure that safety as well as performance is built into aerosol products from the earliest design stages. The Guide addresses the critical areas of product design, which need close attention during aerosol development. These include specifications, compatibility of formulation with packaging materials, toxicity assessments, and corrosion potential during manufacture and storage, and test methods. This Guide aims to cover the whole range of aerosol development, both large and small operations, and all types of products.
BAMA Test Methods
£150.00
A ring binder containing test methods for the aerosol industry including flammability testing, measurement techniques for components, residues and pressure, long-term storage, electrostatic charge, spray patterns and discharge rates.
FEA Guidelines on Basic Safety Requirements in Laboratories dealing with Aerosols
Free to Members ONLY
These Guidelines represent a valuable contribution in achieving this goal, not only for our industry, but also for laboratories which are not dealing with aerosol dispensers on a regular base. These Guidelines are recommended by FEA as a practical contribution to good and safe practice in the various operations encountered in laboratories engaged in the development or testing of aerosol products. Please note that these Guidelines should be considered in addition to local legislation, which will always take priority
BAMA members can obtain a free copy by using the BAMA Members Log-on; otherwise the Guide can be purchased for €50 from FEA at www.aerosol.org/publications.html
